Cruelty-Free vs. Vegan

When shopping for skincare, you often see the terms cruelty-free and vegan. Many think they mean the same thing... but there's a significant difference.

🐰 Cruelty-Free

A cruelty-free product means that no animal testing has been done, either on the finished product or on its ingredients. However, it may contain ingredients of animal origin (e.g., honey, beeswax).

🌱 Vegan

A vegan product contains no animal ingredients. But vegan doesn't always mean cruelty-free, as some vegan brands still test in certain countries.

How to officially know if a brand is truly cruelty-free?

The easiest way is to check with recognized sources such as:

PETA – Beauty Without Bunnies

Leaping Bunny Program

Logical Harmony

These organizations maintain up-to-date lists of certified brands.
